About the Project Our clients’ once-sleek and innovative white kitchen, part of a chic 1970s home in the beautiful wooded Loch Alpine neighborhood, badly needed a refresher. Old appliances caused daily frustration, dim fluorescent tubes in soffits left the space gloomy, and the minimal storage included a poorlydesigned pantry closet that robbed square footage from the kitchen proper. The new, expanded kitchen maximizes every available inch, and
a layered lighting plan transforms the mood. The refinished original oak floor revitalizes both the kitchen and adjacent living areas. Bold color and material choices, such as the sculptural backsplash panel, keep this update close to the home’s architectural roots. A mixture of natural cherry and painted white cabinets strike a balance between cool Modern and warm coziness.
