About the Project For 25 years this 1929 Burns Park home sat as a cozy reminder of days
gone by. Filled with unique details and Old World craftsmanship, it
stood as a favorite landmark in the neighborhood. During this time, it
also lovingly supported two high powered academics while they raised
a family and developed their careers.
In 2007 the Owners embarked on a new, life-changing adventure! They
wanted more light, openness and an enhanced indoor/outdoor flow but
were cautious about losing the historical nature of their little “cottage
in the woods.” After an exhaustive search to determine whether to buy
new or remodel, they chose to stay in the neighborhood and the home
they loved.
Consulting with Custom Design/Build assured them that through
careful planning, a two story kitchen and master suite addition could
seamlessly blend into their existing architecture. With our team of
professionals - David Lewis, Laura Huff and MT Beekley - we joined the
owners to create vital new spaces intended to support and nurture the
second half of their lives.
Meet the Remodeler Every home - and every homeowner - are wholly unique. A full service team specializing in fine homebuilding, we begin each project with that simple premise. Through “deep” design, world class craftsmanship and your personal inspirations, we strive to discover and emphasize the unique elements that make your house YOUR HOME.
